In today's cosmetics industry, where the safety requirements for raw materials are becoming increasingly stringent, Huajing Mica Co., Ltd. in Lingshou County (hereinafter referred to as "Huajing Mica") has become a focal point due to its mica powder products' outstanding performance in heavy metal testing. In March 2025, an authoritative international testing institution, Intertek, issued a report showing that the mica powder submitted by Huajing Mica tested negative for four key heavy metals—cadmium (Cd), mercury (Hg), arsenic (As), and antimony (Sb)—out of eight critical indicators (N.D.). The remaining indicator, lead (Pb), was only 0.408 mg/kg, far below international standards, further confirming the high purity and safety of its products.
The mica powder from Huajing Mica is widely used in eyeshadow, highlighter, and other cosmetic products due to its unique "white lustrous powder" form. In this test, although trace amounts of chromium (Cr), nickel (Ni), cobalt (Co), and other elements were present, they all remained at extremely low levels (the highest value was 7.44 mg/kg). All items without specific limit requirements met the standards for research-grade raw materials. The company's technical director stated, "We control heavy metal residues to near the detection limit (MDL 0.01-0.1 mg/kg) through' selecting from mineral sources + multi-stage purification processes, 'which is more competitive than the industry-standard' meeting requirements.'"
As EU regulations such as EC 1223/2009 increase control over heavy metals, brands are seeing a surge in demand for "transparent traceability" of raw materials. Huajing Mica, backed by third-party test reports, not only provides data results but also publicly discloses testing methods (ISO/TR 17276:2014), demonstrating its full-chain quality control capabilities. A procurement director from an international brand commented, "Chinese mineral raw materials are shifting from 'cost advantage' to 'technology advantage,' and Huajing Mica's case proves this point."
Hua Jing Mica plans to collaborate with research institutions to extend heavy metal control technology to more mineral raw material categories and participate in the formulation of industry white papers. General Manager Liu Zhiyong emphasized: "Safety is the bottom line for cosmetic innovation. We are willing to be a provider of solutions for 'zero heavy metal anxiety,' ensuring that every gram of mica powder carries trust."
This test report is not only a "passport", but also a microcosm of the upgrading of China's supply chain. —— Speaking with scientific data and breaking through with extreme standards, Huajing Mica is redefining the value of "Made in China" cosmetic raw materials.
